A reminder of Věra Čáslavská’s legacy linking Prague and Mexico City

A spectacle of festivities is underway in Mexico City commemorating the 50thanniversary of the Summer Olympics of 1968: a year that left its mark on Czech as well as world history. The most successful female athlete of the Olympics, and of the year 1968, was Czechoslovak gymnast Věra Čáslavská. Her popularity went beyond the world of sports. That same year, she was the second most popular woman on the planet, after former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.

To commemorate the special occasion, the Vera Caslavska Foundation together with the Czech Embassy in Mexico has arranged an exhibition in the capital of Mexico dedicated to the legacy of this exceptional sportswoman, above all a strong individual who stood behind her convictions.

The Vera Caslavska Foundation and Czech Design Week are supporting the Věra 68 exhibition during Czech Design Week 2018 in the Prague Congress Centre from Oct 27 – Dec 2, 2018.

Věra Čáslavská

For the individual who is willing to take the risk and confront the world with courage, a huge reward awaits.

The reward is SELF-ESTEEM.
