120th anniversary of the Czech Olympic Committee

120th anniversary of the Czech Olympic Committee

In 2019 the Czech Olympic Committee celebrates the 120th Anniversary of its founding. The magnificent celebration named "Masters to the Masters" took place on June 17, 2019 in Rudolfinum in Prague. Among the musicalmasters who performed were  violinist Václav Hudeček and pianista Ivo Kahánek.  The Czech Olympic Committee took the opportunity to acknowledge 4 eminent individuals.

The sole woman to be recognized is Věra Čáslavská, the President of the Czech Olympic Committee in period 1990-1996. Czech Olympic Committee President Jiří Kejval acknowledged Mrs. Čáslavská in memoriam, as a sports icon, and especially as a symbol of resistance and humanity. In addition to Mrs. Čáslavská, those receiving commemorative medals were Olympian and Sokol František Pecháček in memoriam, javelin thrower Jan Železný and rower Oldřich Svojanovský. Vera Caslavska Foundation congratulates all 4 recipients.

Věra Čáslavská

For the individual who is willing to take the risk and confront the world with courage, a huge reward awaits.

The reward is SELF-ESTEEM.
